A Season of Momentum at WZFS
Since October, the school has been operating in high gear. Our community has been incredibly busy preparing for major events such as the Science Fair, exams, the Christmas Concert, the World Scholar’s Cup, and the launch of the Zhongshi Sports Academy, just to name a few.
Here are some highlights from this exciting season.
Science Fair Success
The Science Fair was once again a great success. For many of our new teachers, this was their first time participating in this event, and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm alongside that of our bobaes. Students worked diligently to design and prepare their science projects, confidently presenting their work to parents, teachers, and guests. Selected projects advanced to the final round, where students answered questions from judges about their ideas, methods, and conclusions. Everyone did a wonderful job. Congratulations to all for a job well done.
World Scholar’s Cup – Qingdao
Our bobaes proudly represented WZFS at the World Scholar’s Cup Regional Round in Qingdao, competing in debate events against schools from across the region. We are proud to share that our team won the Debate Showcase, an outstanding achievement.
One of our bobaes, Jerusha Reacher, was selected as Best Debater and represented WZFS in the final Debate Showcase. Many of our bobaes also advanced through multiple rounds and were recognized for their strong performances. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, preparation, and the confidence they demonstrated while representing our school.
Exam Season
Exams are always a stressful time at WZFS, and this season was no exception. We could clearly see the tremendous effort our bobaes put into their preparation. While we know how important exams are, we always want to remind our students that their value and worth are not defined by performance. Our value and worth are defined by our Creator. With this understanding, we encourage our bobaes to face their exams and challenges with confidence, knowing they are supported, valued, and capable. We are proud of their resilience, hard work, dedication, and the character they continue to build through this process.
Christmas Concert at Zhihai Harbor Bay
This year’s Christmas Concert was held at the stunning Zhihai Harbor Bay Atrium, a beautiful seaside venue in Weihai. As always, the concert was a meaningful time for the Zhongshi community to come together and spread Christmas cheer. Many visitors stopped to watch and listen to the performances. The orchestra played beautifully, and their continued improvement was clearly evident through their diligence and commitment. Our bobaes are truly talented. Parents and staff also performed, singing Christmas melodies, along with bobaes who performed in smaller ensembles. It was a joyful and memorable evening.
Launch of Zhongshi Sports Academy (ZSA)
A significant milestone for the school this season was the official launch of the Zhongshi Sports Academy. This special ceremony welcomed guests from around the world, including diplomats, city leaders, and legends and former players from the KBO. We are deeply honored that Lee Man-soo, KBO Hall of Famer and the KBO’s first Triple Crown winner, not only supported the launch but has also committed to continued involvement as ZSA grows. We are excited to see the academy mature and look forward to our baseball team competing in games and tournaments ahead.
Zhongshi is full of life and excitement. With so much happening across campus, it can be challenging to capture every moment in this blog. Looking ahead, we are excited to host our first volleyball tournament in Weihai, welcoming teams from cities such as Qingdao as well as teams from South Korea. We are honored to host this event and hope it will be the first of many more to come.
